Thalavadi (also spelled Talavady or Talavadi) is a taluk in Erode district, Tamil Nadu, formed on 8 March 2016 by bifurcation from Sathyamangalam taluk. The taluk headquarters is Thalavadi town (PIN 638461, STD 04295).
The taluk occupies a sparsely populated, forested area on the Tamil Nadu–Karnataka border where the Eastern and Western Ghats meet. Large parts lie within or adjacent to the Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve (STR). Administratively, the taluk encompasses one block (Talavadi Block) with 28 revenue villages organised into 8 gram panchayats plus associated forest hamlets and tribal settlements.
